The Department of Traumatology, Orthopedic Surgery and Foot Surgery at the Academic Hospital Nuremberg covers the entire spectrum of sports orthopedics and sports traumatology. As the regional centre specializing in the treatment of joint diseases, the department offers both comprehensive and customized treatment from diagnosis and up to early rehabilitation. The department is headed by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Hermann Josef Bail.

The Department of Traumatology, Orthopedic Surgery and Foot Surgery has over 91 beds and treats 3,850 inpatients every year. The department performs all types of emergency trauma interventions.
