Department of Urology and Pediatric Urology

The Department of Urology and Pediatric Urology at the Marienhaus Klinikum St. Elisabeth Neuwied deals with the treatment of patients with diseases of the kidneys, urinary tract and male reproductive organs. The director of the Department is Dr. med. Wolfgang Stollhof. In cooperation with the Institute of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology and the Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care, there are used modern conservative, video-guided endoscopic and surgical treatments of these urologic diseases (after the comprehensive diagnosis). Within the framework of tight cooperation of the Department with Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine at the Marienhaus Klinikum St. Elisabeth Neuwied, children and adolescents with urologic diseases receive nursing, attention and medical care, as well as surgical treatment, if necessary. 

The Department of Urology and Pediatric Urology under the direction of Dr. med. Wolfgang Stollhof is focused on the following:

  • Surgical treatment of tumors of the kidneys, bladder, prostate and male external genitalia
  • Various treatments for urinary stones, for example, by meansof video-guided endoscopy in the kidneys, ureter and bladder
  • Conservative and surgical treatment of urinary incontinence in women, men and children
  • The treatment of patients with prostate diseases in the Marienhaus Klinikum St. Elisabeth Neuwied depends on the initial data of tumor examination, its size and patient’s age. In case of benign prostatic hyperplasia, those areas of the prostate, which constrict the urinary tract, are removed by a video-guided endoscopic method.
