About the department
The Department of Orthopedics at the Max Grundig Clinic Buehl provides prevention, diagnostics and treatment of various diseases and injuries of the bones, joints, muscles and tendons. Of particular interest to the department's orthopedists is the inpatient rehabilitation treatment of functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system. In most cases, rehabilitation is required for the patients after knee and hip replacement surgery, as well as spinal surgery. Each patient benefits from an individual rehabilitation program based on dosed physical activity under medical supervision. The task of the department's medical team is to eliminate pain and restore movement, which in turn will allow the patient to return to a full life. The department is headed by Dr. med. Rene Malzkorn.
The department has state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment for a comprehensive assessment of the musculoskeletal system, spacious rooms with various fitness equipment for restoring mobility, rooms with pools, treatment rooms for taping, acupuncture, cryotherapy, etc. The excellent technical options are complemented by the exceptional professionalism of leading German doctors.
After suffering orthopedic diseases or injuries, the patients often have to lead a sedentary lifestyle, which contributes to body weight gain. Therefore, an important component of the therapeutic process is not only regular therapeutic exercises, training on fitness equipment, water aerobics, but also diet therapy. Each patient receives medical care from a competent nutritionist, who elaborates an individual diet to normalize body weight. Many patients find it difficult to accept their diagnosis and put up with their new life situation resulting from orthopedic pathology, and therefore the department also provides psychological support.
An important role in the success of medical rehabilitation is played by the location of the medical center in a picturesque forested area with walking alleys, paths for cycling and horse riding, tennis court and swimming pools, which contributes to pleasant leisure time free from therapeutic procedures, peace of mind and overall health improvement.
The department specializes in the diagnostics, therapeutic and rehabilitation treatment of the following musculoskeletal diseases:
