The Department of Cardiology and Angiology at the Max Grundig Clinic Buehl offers all the options of modern diagnostics for the prevention and early detection of cardiovascular diseases. Curriculum vitae
Prof. Dr. med. Curt Diehm studied Human Medicine at the Universities of Heidelberg, Geneva and Paris. After writing an experimental doctoral thesis on the treatment of acute myocardial infarction, Prof. Diehm was appointed as a Research Fellow and Assistant Physician at the University Hospital Heidelberg. In 1984, he defended his doctoral thesis. In 1990, he received his professorship.
Prof. Diehm specializes in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Angiology, Phlebology and Sports Medicine. He worked as the Acting Head of the Department of Sports Medicine at the Heidelberg University for several years.
From 1991 to 2014, Prof. Diehm was the Chief Physician of the Department of Internal Medicine at the Karlsbad-Langensteinbach Clinic – the Academic Hospital of the Heidelberg University. Since 2014, the specialist has been holding the position of Medical Director of the Max Grundig Clinic Buehl, as well as the Chief Physician of the Department of Cardiology and Angiology at the same clinic.
Prof. Diehm is the author of numerous medical scientific books and books for patients, co-editor of many national and international journals. He is also a member of numerous international professional societies and the winner of a large number of awards and honors.
In 2014, the professor received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his voluntary work as the President of the German Society for Angiology (he was appointed to the position several times), for almost 20 years of work as a Board Member of the German Vascular League, for work as the Board Member of the German Stroke Foundation.
