Location

Bremen is a city in northwestern Germany located on both banks of the Weser River, about 60 km from its confluence with the North Sea. The history of the city has more than 1,200 years, so a huge number of monuments, medieval buildings, museums, parks and other attractions are concentrated here.

The very heart of the city is the Marktplatz (market square). The main decorations of the square are the City Hall, built in the years 1405-1410 in the style of Gothic and Weser Renaissance, as well as the Roland statue of with a height of 10 meters. The architectural ensemble is complemented by St. Peter's Cathedral and the sculpture of the famous "Bremen Town Musicians", which glorified the city throughout the world.

One of the must-see places in Bremen is the Böttcherstrasse. Its length is 100 meters, and it consists of only 7 houses. Despite its rather modest size, the street is the focus of a number of architectural monuments, medieval courtyards, museums, craft and creative workshops, restaurants, beer bars, hotels and casinos.

An excursion to the historic promenade of Schlachte will also bring a lot of pleasure. The promenade was built in the XIII century and originally served to strengthen the shores of the Weser. Then there was the main river port, which received ships from all over Europe. Today, Schlachte is a favorite place for walking with an abundance of restaurants, shops, entertainment centers and other urban infrastructure. The main value of the promenade are ancient houses built in different architectural styles, as well as copies of ships of past eras.

Nature lovers can take a boat trip along the Weser River, as well as cycle around the picturesque surroundings of the city. In summer, daily pleasure boats leave from Bremen to the island of Helgoland in the North Sea.
