About the department

The Department of Reproductive Medicine at the Shamir Medical Center Be'er Ya'akov offers the full range of modern treatment methods for infertility in men and women, including the most advanced ones, which are available only in a few medical centers around the world. The medical facility was founded in 1986 and became one of the first in its field of competence in Israel. The department is headed by Prof. Dr. med. Raphael Ron-El.

In addition, the department has a laboratory with state-of-the-art equipment, such as incubators with reduced oxygen concentration for achievement of optimal results. Recently, the department has begun using incubators of a new generation – desk incubators with small openings and a stable, persistent gas concentration.

The department is structurally divided into two parts. The first is the Section for Male Infertility and the Sperm Bank, which performs testicular interventions, procedures to improve sperm quality and cryopreservation of semen samples. The department uses advanced technologies for reproductive medicine, which guarantee high-quality results even in complex cases.

Thanks to the outstanding results of fertility treatment, the department is known far beyond the borders of Israel. The department's specialists carry out cooperative clinical and research activities with leading Fertility Centers in Western Europe and the USA. The doctors of the medical facility actively participate in international conferences, during which they present their developments and achievements.

The department has a pleasant atmosphere and exceptional comfort for patients. It strictly meets privacy policy.
