About the department

The Department of Pulmonary Oncology at the Specialized Pulmonary Clinic Asklepios Munich-Gauting offers the full range of diagnostic services and all modern types of therapy of lung cancer and malignant tumors of other organs of the respiratory system. One of the most effective treatment methods available in the department is cytotoxic chemotherapy. Annually, this method is used for the treatment of lung cancer in about 700 patients. All department's doctors are first-class experts in their field of ​​expertise and they do everything possible to provide the patient with an optimal treatment, psychological support and understanding. The department is headed by PD Dr. med. Niels Reinmuth.

The first stage of treatment is a comprehensive diagnostics, including differential diagnostics (if necessary). After receiving the examination results, the physician, together with all relevant experts, selects the optimal type of treatment, taking into account the needs and wishes of the patient. The importance is attached to the regular monitoring of the patient after cancer treatment completion.
