The department has state-of-the-art equipment for chest X-rays. The medical facility also performs interventional procedures under imaging guidance, such as CT-guided lung puncture for suspected malignant processes; CT-guided puncture for detecting metastases in the liver, kidneys, and adrenal glands; CT-guided pleural puncture for pleurisy; CT-guided drainage for removing air or fluid from the pleural cavities or pericardium. All diagnostic and therapeutic image-guided procedures are carried out in strict accordance with the requirements of professional medical societies and in compliance with radiation protection standards. The department's specialists guarantee accurate diagnostics for each patient, which is the key to developing an optimal treatment regimen and achieving the desired therapeutic result.
Department of Thoracic Surgery
The Department of Thoracic Surgery offers top-class surgical treatment of the full range of thoracic diseases. The department has the status of one of the largest medical facilities of this kind in Germany. In addition, the department is the country's leading center for surgery to treat lung cancer, which is one of the most common and life-threatening types of oncological diseases. Patients are treated in two high-tech operating rooms, where all hygiene and safety standards are strictly met. Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgical techniques are widely used in clinical practice, which contributes to the rapid recovery of patients in the postoperative period. At the same time, the effectiveness of such operations is in no way inferior to classical open surgical techniques. The department annually performs more than 1,000 surgical interventions of varying complexity on the chest organs. The department's special therapeutic offer is hyperthermic intrathoracic chemotherapy (HITHOC), which is used for treating pleural mesothelioma.
Department of Pulmonary Oncology
The Department of Pulmonary Oncology is one of the leading highly specialized German medical facilities for the diagnostics and treatment of lung cancer and malignant tumors of other chest organs. Of particular interest to the department’s team of doctors is the provision of medical care to patients with non-small cell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer. The department also admits patients with pleural mesothelioma, pleural carcinomatosis, and neuroendocrine lung tumors. The specialists at the medical facility prefer the multimodal concept of treating patients with cancer. Each clinical case is therefore considered during an interdisciplinary tumor board, after which doctors from related specialties cooperatively develop an individual treatment regimen. Patients with advanced cancers can receive palliative care in the department, which is aimed at improving the quality of life. It is worth noting that all the department’s doctors are top-class experts in their field of competence. They do their best to provide the patient with optimal treatment and psychological support.
Department of Pulmonology

The department is one of the largest specialized medical facilities of this kind in Germany. The exceptional professionalism and long experience of the department's doctors allow for comprehensive treatment adapted to the patient's needs. The priority focuses of the department's work are the treatment of interstitial lung disease, pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cancer, tuberculosis, and other pulmonary diseases. The department's doctors also have vast experience in providing medical care for patients with rare lung diseases. In the case of unclear or particularly complex pathologies, accurate differential diagnostics are carried out. The department has state-of-the-art equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopic procedures. Bronchoscopy is performed in the most comfortable conditions and is absolutely painless.
