The Department at the University Hospital Marburg under the direction of Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Boris A. Stuck provides the full range of otolaryngology, head and neck surgery. The main focus is placed on nose and paranasal sinus surgery, a comprehensive cochlear implantation program, which includes the maintenance of the installed middle ear auditory systems, the entire range of oncology in this field, as well as on the treatment of patients with vascular malformations in the head and neck (Osler's disease, hemangiomas, lymphangiomas and other vascular malformations) provided in the interregional center. 

In the field of otolaryngology, the University Hospital Marburg attaches particular importance to the treatment of laryngeal cancer and other oncological diseases. The Department performs complex tumor resections, as well as reconstructive interventions by means of skin grafting (myocutaneous island flaps, microvascular anastomized free flaps, etc.). Another focus is placed on the use of the available laser systems, as well as on microsurgery, photodynamic therapy (diode laser) and Da Vinci robot.

In addition, the range of services of the Department under the direction of Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Boris A. Stuck also includes reconstructive operations in case of cancer surgery in the head and neck, rhinoplasty, otoplasty, nose surgery to improve nasal breathing / plastic correction (after nose bone fracture). The Department maintains close cooperation with Neurosurgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Neuroradiology. 

The Department of Otolaryngology at the University Hospital Marburg also focuses on pediatric otolaryngology, which specializes in the treatment of diseases in infants and young children. The treatment covers a wide spectrum of congenital and acquired diseases in infancy and childhood. In many cases these disorders require microsurgical procedures that allow children to avoid severe long-term consequences.
