The Department of Neuropediatrics at the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden in Germany, headed by Prof. Dr. med. Maja von der Hagen, deals with the diagnosis and treatment of children and adolescents with neurological diseases. These include inflammatory and metabolic diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system, neuromuscular diseases, epilepsies, neoplasms of the central and peripheral nervous system, perinatal lesions of the nervous system or congenital pathologic syndromes and diagnosis of the (complex) developmental delay. 

The Department of Neuropediatrics at the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden has a fully equipped EEG Laboratory, which offers not only EEG diagnosis (EEG, sleep EEG, long-term EEG, sleep / sleep-deprived EEG), but also other examinations, such as measurement of evoked potentials and nerve conduction velocity (especially for children). In addition to inpatient treatment, there is also provided outpatient counseling. The Department of Neuropediatrics under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. Maja von der Hagen maintains tight cooperation with the Department of Neurosurgery to provide surgical treatment to children and adolescents, as well as collaborates with the Social Pediatric Center to treat children with chronic diseases. 

To obtain a clearer diagnosis, the infrastructure of the Department of Neuropediatrics at the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden includes special pediatric neurological functional sections.
