The Department of General Pediatrics, Neonatology and Pediatric Cardiology under the direction of Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Ertan Mayatepek provides a wide range of medical services and medical care in all fields of general pediatrics. The Department receives patients of various age groups and adolescents up to 18. The Department focuses on metabolic therapy, infectious diseases, neurology and neonatology. The Department, headed by Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Ertan Mayatepek, has a great experience, especially in medical care of children with diabetes, gastrointestinal, hepatologic and endocrine diseases.
The Intensive Care Unit at the University Hospital Dusseldorf is equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities and is one of the most comfortable in Germany. Here is also provided care of newborns and premature babies as well as children with acute, life-threatening symptoms and patients after the surgery. The neonatology section maintains a close cooperation with the Department of Gynecology at the University Hospital Dusseldorf.
