The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University Hospital Erlangen offers patients the full range of surgical services in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including plastic surgery. The Department is headed by Prof. Dr. med. Dr. med. dent. Dr. h. c. Friedrich W. Neukam. The spectrum covers diseases, injuries, fractures, defects and deformities of the teeth, mouth, jaw and face. In a close cooperation with the related disciplines, the Department makes every effort to provide both functional and aesthetic rehabilitation of a patient.

Any surgery in the mouth, on the jaw and face is carried out with extreme caution. Conservation and restoration of function and aesthetics are of primary importance in the treatment strategy. The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University Hospital Erlangen uses the most advanced diagnostic methods and offers the entire spectrum of surgery in this field.

The interdisciplinary approach is self-evident. The Department under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. Dr. med. dent. Dr. h. c. Friedrich W. Neukam works closely with other departments in order to optimize the combination of clinical knowledge and experience within the University Hospital Erlangen.

The Department does not only work at the highest technical (technological) level, but also offers its patients the quality, which is always greater than standards.
