About University Hospital Erlangen

University Hospital Erlangen is one of the leading university hospitals in Bavaria and offers advanced medicine, characterized by a tight integration of patient care with university research and teaching. It pursues a very innovative concept. The research results in Erlangen set new standards in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment. With 1368 approved beds in 48 departments, sections and institutes in all areas of medicine, this University Hospital is a supra-regional health care facility of maximum care. In general, in 2014, the hospital treated 63,000 inpatients and 465,000 outpatients.  

The first to be mentioned is the Comprehensive Cancer Center Erlangen, one of 13 Centers of Excellence in Germany certified by the German Cancer Society, as well as high quality standards of the Transplant Center Erlangen-Nuremberg dealing with heart, liver, kidney, pancreas, cornea, bone marrow / stem cell transplants.

Various care centers, networks and multidisciplinary teams have enabled comprehensive and interdisciplinary treatment. Over 7,500 employees of the hospital pursue this purpose. Taking care of and for a man is the main motivation for their (clinical, teaching and research) activities.

The hospital ranks 8th in the FOCUS list of top hospitals in 2015.

Erlangen is a large city in the administrative region of Central Franconia in the free state of Bavaria.
