Location
Friedrichshafen is a picturesque city on the northern shore of the majestic Lake Constance. The city is surrounded by the Alps, so the mountains in combination with the boundless water surface create a truly incredible landscape. Despite the natural beauty of this place, Friedrichshafen is also an important industrial center in Germany.
Friedrichshafen is a quite young city, since the title of a city was awarded to it only in 1811. However, everyone will find here many interesting things to see. The symbol of the city is the Airship Factory. This factory was the birthplace of the German aircraft industry. It is possible to order an air tour over Friedrichshafen at the factory and admire the landscapes of the city from a bird's-eye view. In addition, the city has the Zeppelin Museum Friedrichshafen, which houses a rich exposition of interesting exhibits, a library and an archive.
The embankment that passes through the Stadtgarten Park, which is famous for its sculptures, is popular both among the residents of the city and among tourists. Here one can walk through the park, as well as rent a boat or catamaran for a boat trip. The city also has the Moleturm Friedrichshafen observation deck tower, which offers an amazing panorama of the city and a beautiful view of Lake Constance.
As for the religious monuments, special attention should be given to the Schlosskirche Church. The temple is a beautiful baroque building with two towers. The shrine is part of the castle, which is now unfortunately closed to the public.
The city also has many cafes and restaurants, where one can taste delicious dishes of national German cuisine and feel the flavor of the country.
