Curriculum vitae
Prof. Dr. med. Daniel Dirkmann studied medicine at the Ruhr University Bochum and at the University of Duisburg-Essen. In 1997, he completed his training as a paramedic, which was followed by the decision to become a doctor. Since July 1, 2020, he has been the Chief Physician of the Department of Anesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Management at the Alfried Krupp Hospital in Essen-Ruettenscheid. Previously, Prof. Daniel Dirkmann worked for 16 years at the University Hospital Essen as the Senior Consultant in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care. The professor has also been involved in the personnel organization and management at a major surgical center and has vast experience in cardiac surgery and transplant surgery. Prof. Dirkmann is a Leading Economist in Health Business Administration (MHBA). Currently, he not only heads the Department of Anesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Management, but also gives lectures at various universities, trains students and medical staff.
