About the department
The Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Hand Surgery, Burn Surgery at the Asklepios Municipal Hospital Bad Wildungen offers the full range of surgical services in the areas of its specialization. The department's surgeons perform successful plastic interventions both for medical reasons in order to restore lost or deformed parts of the body and in order to improve the patient's appearance at his own request. Hand surgery deals with the treatment of acute and chronic hand and finger injuries, arthritis and rheumatic lesions of the hand joints, infectious diseases, benign and malignant tumors, as well as congenital malformations. To eliminate skin defects after burns, the department's specialists offer modern flap plastic surgery and skin grafting. The minor burns on the body are treated using special innovative dressings. The highly professional team of the department's experienced plastic surgeons uses only the most modern and reliable surgical techniques in their work, including minimally invasive and endoscopic surgery. The department is headed by Dr. med. Patrice Moubayed. The specialist is a high-class plastic surgeon who has performed thousands of successful surgical procedures.
The main task of the department's reconstructive surgeons is to restore the forms and functions of various parts of the human body. The surgical options include both minor local skin reconstruction using flap plastic surgery and major skin graft surgery, breast reconstruction after cancer using the patient's autologous tissues, covering defects of any parts of the body with free and local flaps, body contouring and body lift surgery in patients after significant weight loss. The surgical procedures are performed in high-tech operating rooms equipped with modern surgical instruments, computer-assisted systems and monitoring devices.
Medical services in the field of aesthetic plastic surgery are focused on the elimination of age-related changes and improvement of the patient's appearance. Since the current trend is natural beauty, the department's surgeons apply all their professionalism to achieve a high-quality final result with maximum preservation of natural beauty. Prior to any aesthetic plastic surgery, the department's surgeons hold comprehensive consultations, during which they discuss in detail with the patient all his wishes. Whenever required, the doctors use advanced computer-assisted systems to simulate the final result of the operation of a particular patient, which he can see prior to the intervention. Such an approach helps to maximally meet the needs and wishes of the patient, thereby providing him with the appearance of his dreams.
Hand surgery is an integral part of the department's clinical practice. Of particular interest in this field is the treatment of hand nerve compression syndromes, hand arthrosis, as well as the treatment of degenerative hand diseases, such as Dupuytren's contracture, tendovaginitis and hand dysfunction. In addition, the department's specialists have vast experience in the treatment of bone fractures and hand tendon injuries.
The department also successfully performs reconstructive interventions in patients after burns of varying severity. In the case of minor burn injuries, the specialists try to avoid surgery and provide treatment using special innovative dressings. In more serious clinical cases, the doctors resort to flap plastic surgery or skin grafting. Each clinical case is considered on an individual basis, so the patients can count on the most effective treatment taking into account the aesthetic aspect.
