The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the university hospital Klinikum rechts der Isar under the direction of Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Dr. med. dent. Klaus-Dietrich Wolff provides a complete range of different treatment options in the field of oro-maxillofacial surgery, including the esthetic surgeries. The Department places great emphasis on cleft lip and palate, head and neck tumors as well as on the reconstructive facial surgery. All options of treatment meet the best scientific standards.

Interdisciplinary treatment

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery under the direction of Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Dr. med. dent. Klaus-Dietrich Wolff is an interdisciplinary partner within the framework of the university hospital Klinikum rechts der Isar. Therefore, there is a wide range of cooperation between such specialties as: anesthesia, neurology, orthopedics, psychosomatics, physical medicine, ophthalmology, neurosurgery and the department Throad, Nose, and Ears (HNO). Numerous established connections with external specialists, particularly with the specialists in orthodontic dentistry, also contribute to the competent and interdisciplinary treatment of patients. While treating malformations in children the Department cooperates with several maternity and children’s clinics.

The interdisciplinary character of the treatment is documented in regular interdisciplinary tumor boards as well as in the pain conferences or in the so-called cleft clinic. It is important to integrate all relevant neighboring disciplines in the decision-making process for every disease in order to be able to offer the best possible individual treatment.

The rechts der Isar Hospital is the University Hospital of the Technical University of Munich. There is intensive cooperation between the research facilities of the TU and the hospital in numbers of areas.

Patients rooms

The kid rooms have everything needed for a comfortable stay. The kid bathroom includes both a toilet and a shower. All rooms offer functional beds with orthopaedic mattresses ensuring unsurpassed support for overall body during sleep. There are bedside stands with pull-out tables, lockers and safe boxes in each room. It is also possible to access the Internet from a PC, smartphone or tablet so that kids always keep in touch with their parents and other family members. There is also a TV in each room.
You can opt for a single or a double room. An accompanying person may stay with the kid in the room. A double room is shared with another patient.
The enhanced comfort rooms are equipped with a safety box, a fridge and upholstered furniture.

Meals and Menus

The patient and the accompanying person are offered a daily choice of three menus. If you are on a specific diet for any reason, you will be offered an individual menu. Please inform the medical staff about your dietary preferences prior to the treatment.
