The Department of Oncology and Hematology at the University Hospital of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich deals with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and blood diseases. The department is headed by Prof. Dr. med. Wolfgang Hiddemann.

The department offers the full range of services in oncology and hematology. It uses the very latest treatment methods for oncological diseases.

Patients with acute leukemia, lymphomas, carcinomas, sarcomas and other types of cancer are treated here on an inpatient basis. Also, the department offers treatment of non-malignant diseases.

The department includes 2 units designed for the treatment of patients with allogeneic stem cell transplantation (bone marrow transplantation).

Patients with different tumor diseases are treated on an outpatient basis, within the framework of the specialized outpatient care. The day clinic is used for chemotherapy and complex examinations. In addition, the specialists of the department take care of the psychological condition of cancer patients and their family members.
