About the city

Munich is a city in the south of Germany, in the Federal Land of Bavaria. It is not only the center of cultural and museum values, but also a large industrial and research center.

The main historical sights of Munich are located near the Marienplatz Square. These include the Old and New Town Halls, as well as old churches. Of particular interest is the St. Mary's Church (the highest building in the city) and the St. Peter's Church, built in the XII century. In addition, the city has a large number of museums. The most popular of them are two Pinakotheks housing a collection of paintings by the world-famous artists, such as Da Vinci and Rubens, as well as the exhibition of works by contemporary artists. No less interesting will be excursions in the German Museum and the BMW Museum, which presents a long history of automotive industry, the Toy Museum, the Beer Museum, where visitors can try their self-made foamy drink.

Being in Munich, one should definitely visit at least one of many palaces in the city, such as Nymphenburg, Holnstein or Blutenburg, where one can plunge into the atmosphere of ancient times and enjoy the incredible, exquisite architecture.
