In 1994, Prof. Stebut-Borschitz completed her study of medicine at the University of Lübeck. After completing internship in the Department of Dermatology at the Charite Hospital in Berlin and the University Hospital Mainz (2001), she was recognized as the specialist in dermatology with an additional qualification in allergology. After defending her doctoral dissertation, the doctor worked in the Department of Dermatology of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, USA. Then Dr. Stebut-Borschitz took part in a comprehensive training program on cellular immunology with a special focus on dendritic cell biology. Since 1997, Dr. Stebut-Borschitz has been engaged in the study of dendritic cells in conjunction with the protective responses of the immune system in allergic, autoimmune and infectious diseases. In 2007, the doctor received additional qualifications in dermatological histology. Prof. Stebut-Borschitz received many international awards for her achievements in research, for example, the Boehringer Ingelheim Prize (2007). Dr. Stebut-Borschitz occupies the position of the Chief Physician and also conducts special consultations for patients with neurodermatitis. She has deep knowledge and extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious skin diseases. In addition, the professor gives lectures for medical students.
