According to the Focus magazine, the Department of Adult and Pediatric Gynecology, Mammology, Obstetrics at the University Hospital Tuebingen is included in the ranking of the top German departments specializing in obstetrics and breast cancer treatment!
The department offers the full range of diagnostics and treatment of diseases of the female reproductive system, breast pathologies. Also, the specialists of the department provide a comprehensive management of pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum care for both mother and child. Key attention is paid to the treatment of female genital cancers, as well as breast cancer treatment. For this purpose, the department has all the modern therapeutic techniques, as well as its our own innovative developments by the department doctors. The department is headed by Prof. Dr. med. Sara Brucker.
The medical team of the department has long experience in the surgical treatment of gynecological diseases in women. The surgeons specialize in performing both highly complex interventions and sparing minimally invasive procedures. Curriculum vitae
Since October 2022, Prof. Dr. med. Sara Brucker has been heading the Department of Adult and Pediatric Gynecology, Mammology, Obstetrics at the University Hospital Tuebingen.
From 1993 to 2000, Dr. Brucker studied medicine at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg. In 1998, she also completed a training course at the Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris. After completing her studies, she had an internship in the Department of Adult and Pediatric Gynecology, Mammology, Obstetrics at the University Hospital Tuebingen. In 2001, Prof. Brucker received her license to practice medicine and began working as an Assistant Physician in the Department of Adult and Pediatric Gynecology, Mammology, Obstetrics at the University Hospital Tuebingen. In 2005, the doctor completed her board certification in gynecology and obstetrics, and in 2006, she became a Senior Physician at the University Hospital Tuebingen. In 2009, she habilitated on the subject: "Vaginal aplasia: current diagnostic and therapeutic concepts". In the same year, Dr. Sara Brucker became the Head of the Center for Rare Malformations of the Female Genital Organs at the University Hospital Tuebingen. In 2013, she completed an optional advanced training course in special obstetrics and perinatal medicine as well as special surgical gynecology. Since 2014, Prof. Brucker has held the position of the Medical Director of the Research Institute for Women's Health (FFG) in the Department of Gynecology at the University of Tuebingen and was also Deputy Head Physician of the Department of Adult and Pediatric Gynecology, Mammology, Obstetrics at the University Hospital Tuebingen. In 2016, Dr. Brucker became the first woman to hold the position of the President of the 61st Congress of the German Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics. In 2018, she was elected President of the German Society of Senology and became the Head Physician of the Department of Adult and Pediatric Gynecology, Mammology, Obstetrics at the University Hospital Tuebingen. Since April 1, 2022, the doctor has been the Director of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Tuebingen-Stuttgart, where she has been a member of the Executive Board since 2014.

Patients rooms
The patients of the University Hospital Tuebingen live in comfortable single and double rooms with an ensuite bathroom equipped with a shower and toilet. The beds in the patient rooms are equipped with orthopedic mattresses that promote good and full sleep. There is a TV in the room, and it is also possible to connect a smartphone or laptop to the Internet. In addition, there is enough space in the patient room to receive 2-3 guests without inconvenience for the second patient.
The enhanced-comfort rooms include a hairdryer, heated towel rail, a large mirror, a direct dial telephone, a flat-screen satellite TV, a writing desk, free Internet access, a mini-bar and a refrigerator.
Meals and Menus
The patients of the hospital are offered tasty and healthy three meals a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is served as a buffet, while for lunch and dinner there is a choice of several menus. Also, if desired, the patient will be provided with an individual menu.
