Plastic surgery: Labia asymmetry — Labiaplasty. Treatment
The common defects of the labia majora are their thickening, lengthening, and asymmetry. The resulting changes deliver physical discomfort, and affect the quality of sexual life of the patient. To correct the shape and volume of the genital organs, a variety of labiaplasty techniques is used.
Preoperative preparation includes:
- consultation of an obstetrician-gynecologist,
- a set of laboratory analyzes,
On the eve of the intervention, the woman is examined by an anesthesiologist, who prescribes a suitable premedication.
The procedure is performed in the first phase of the menstrual cycle. The surgeon makes markings on the genitals, given the defect and the patient's wishes. As a rule, the V-shaped extra flaps of tissue are removed, and then the edges of wounds are sutured with bioresorbable sutures.
Labia volume can also be reduced by liposuction. To do this, the excessive fat is aspirated with a special syringe through the crotch area. All manipulations are performed under local anesthesia and take no more than 40 minutes.
The patient remains in the clinic for the next 5 days. During this period, the wound is treated with antiseptics daily. To reduce the pain, the analgesics are prescribed. Before discharge, the gynecologist provides recommendations for further care of the operated area.Hide
