The Department of Urology at the University Hospital Dusseldorf deals with the treatment of all urologic diseases, including pediatric urology with the use of the latest diagnostic and therapeutic methods. These include “keyhole” surgery in case of urologic tumor surgery and modernization of diagnosis and treatment of kidney stones. An important focus of the Department is the Prostate Cancer Center. Prof. Dr. Peter Albers has been leading the Department since 1. August 2008.

Univ.-Prof. Dr. Peter Albers headed the Department of Urology at the Kassel Hospital (maximal care hospital) before. He is a specialist in the field of extensive surgery of tumors and a recognized research associate in the field of uro oncology. His coming encouraged an intensive development of both scientific and clinical activity of the Department of Urology at the University Hospital Dusseldorf. 

Since December 2012 the Department has been a certified Prostate Cancer Center according to the criteria of the German Cancer Society. The Pelvic Floor Center is one more project, which deals with diagnosis and treatment of urinary incontinence in cooperation with the university departments of gynecology. In addition to conventional surgical techniques, the Department at the University Hospital Dusseldorf uses the latest minimally invasive techniques (robotized surgery, laser). The Department provides a consultation on various focuses, including pediatric oncology and urology. 

The main treatment focuses of the Department of Urology at the University Hospital Dusseldorf under the direction of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Peter Albers are:
