The Department of Dermatology and Allergology has a dedicated team, which currently consists of 50 physicians as well as 300 nurses and medical technical assistants. Every year, it performs more than 90.000 outpatient surgeries, and more than a half of these patients are new patients. More than 5,800 patients are treated at the inpatient department every year.

The Department of Dermatology at the University Hospital Erlangen is an internationally recognized Center of Excellence in diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases. Over 3,000 inpatients (46 inpatient beds, 10 beds in the day hospital), as well as about 30,000 outpatients are annually treated here in accordance with the latest scientific achievements.

The Department of Dermatology, Venerology and Allergology offers the entire spectrum of conservative and surgical dermatology. A particular attention is given to the treatment of malignant skin tumors, as well as diagnosis and treatment of allergic and autoimmune skin diseases. The specialized outpatient clinics provide counseling for patients with psoriasis, neurodermatitis and hyperhidrosis, skin melanoma and lymphoma, venous foot ulcer and diseases of the external anal and genital area.
