The Department of Vascular and Thoracic Surgery at the Hospital Nordwest under the direction of Prof. med. Max Zegelman has two sections with 36 planned beds. The Department provides conservative, interventional and surgical treatment of arteries, veins and lymphatic vessels.

The Department of Vascular Surgery at the District Hospital of Waldbröl has 25 beds and deals with the treatment of arteries and veins. The patient care is mostly carried out on the inpatient basis, still there is outpatient treatment as well.
The Department of Vascular Surgery deals with the treatment of all diseases of the arterial and venous vascular system, including vascular anomalies. The Department specializes in the treatment of diseases of the aorta, carotid artery and circulatory disorders.

The Department of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the University Hospital Münster annually treats 6,000 outpatients and over 3,500 inpatients. Annually, 3,500 operations and about 1,000 imaging examinations are performed. Every patient is offered the most sparing treatment option.
