Many patients travel to Germany in order to undergo the treatment of breast diseases. This country offers accurate diagnostics, allowing doctors to reliably distinguish benign processes from cancer. The healthcare professionals in this country use the latest treatment methods for breast diseases. They not only completely cure the patient of the disease but also retain the aesthetic appeal of the breast. Most pathologies can be successfully treated with minimally invasive procedures that replace conventional surgical procedures.

  4. Why is it worth undergoing treatment in Germany?

The treatment of breast diseases involves the use of drug therapy, non-drug procedures, minimally invasive percutaneous interventions, and surgical interventions. Radiation therapy, hormone therapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy can also be used for breast cancer.

You can undergo your treatment in one of the following hospitals: University Hospital Frankfurt am Main, Helios Hospital Berlin-Buch, or University Hospital Tuebingen.

You do not have to deal with any organizational issues on your own because the Booking Health company will fully organize your treatment trip. The company's specialists will recommend a clinic and a doctor, make an appointment, help you to book airline tickets and accommodation, get a visa, and prepare and translate medical documents into German. At the hospital, you will be accompanied by an interpreter, and you can contact your personal medical coordinator for any questions you have.

What diseases are treated by breast care specialists?

A breast care specialist deals with conservative and surgical treatment of any breast diseases in women and men. The main pathologies with which patients seek medical attention from the foreign clinics are as follows:

  • breast cancer;
  • benign and intermediate tumors;
  • precancerous conditions;
  • dyshormonal diseases;
  • cysts;
  • mastitis (inflammation of the mammary gland);
  • abscess (purulent inflammation);
  • gynecomastia;
  • fatty breast tissue necrosis;
  • complications of breast surgery for cancer treatment, plastic surgery, and other surgical interventions.

Diagnostics in Germany

Many women go to Germany to undergo diagnostics. The examination is mainly aimed at detecting or ruling out cancer. Such a need most often arises when breast calcifications or other signs of malignancy are detected on the x-ray scans made as part of a screening (a mass examination of an asymptomatic population) and when doctors suspect a malignant tumor.

An accurate diagnosis is very important in order not to miss cancer and avoid unnecessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in women who do not have a malignant tumor in their breasts.

The timely detected cancer can be cured faster and easier, with fewer procedures and less financial costs. Therefore, it is important not to delay the examination and undergo it as quickly as possible.

It is quite common that women with suspected cancer eventually do not have any malignant tumor. The neoplasm turns out to be benign. The problem with this is that one has to resort to invasive procedures to establish the origin of the tumor. In Germany, they are used less frequently due to the high quality of non-invasive diagnostics. If a biopsy is required, then German clinics perform it using more sparing techniques without compromising the appearance of the female breast.

The main methods for diagnosing breast diseases in Germany include:

  • mammography, including its very latest versions: digital subtraction mammography and dual-energy contrast-enhanced spectral mammography;
  • breast ultrasound scanning;
  • an MRI scan;
  • a biopsy: aspiration, vacuum-assisted, and core needle;
  • cytological examinations of imprint smear in the presence of discharge from the nipples;
  • bacterial culture tests for suspected infectious inflammatory mammary gland diseases;
  • Tumor marker tests are used to determine the risk of developing breast cancer or as part of the control of this disease.

In most cases, doctors rule out breast cancer with non-invasive methods, which allows women to avoid a biopsy.

Treatment methods for breast diseases

To treat breast diseases, the mammologists in Germany use the following methods:

  • medications (antibiotics, hormones);
  • non-drug treatment procedures (physiotherapy, massage);
  • minimally invasive percutaneous procedures: for example, puncture and drainage for an abscess or evacuation of the cyst contents;
  • sclerotherapy for breast cysts (injection of a solution that sticks together with the walls of the cyst);
  • surgical procedures on the mammary gland, the most common of which is a sectoral breast resection (performed to remove the neoplasms that can transform into a malignancy).

Breast care specialists are also engaged in restoring the appearance of the breast after the suffered diseases or surgical interventions. For example, they perform lipofilling (restoring the shape of the breast with the patient's adipose tissue) and plastic surgery with free and advanced flaps.

Why is it worth undergoing treatment in Germany?

To undergo treatment for breast diseases, you can visit one of the clinics specializing in mammology in Germany. This country will offer you the services of experienced, highly qualified doctors and well-equipped modern hospitals. There are several reasons for you to undergo mammology treatment in Germany:

  • accurate diagnostics using modern equipment: doctors will not miss cancer, and in the absence of the tumor, in most cases, they can exclude cancer without a biopsy;
  • if the biopsy is performed, then it is minimally traumatic and does not affect the aesthetics of the breast;
  • many diseases can be cured with minimally invasive percutaneous procedures instead of open surgery;
  • The doctors in the breast centers in Germany strive not only to cure the disease but also to preserve the aesthetics of the breast.

Please use the Booking Health service to find out the prices for medical procedures and make an appointment for your treatment at the best price. Our company's specialists will help you choose the most suitable breast center and take care of the organization of your trip.
