Location

Berlin is the capital of Germany and one of the largest cities in Europe. On the squares and streets of Berlin, the city's guests can touch the past, which has been preserved in the famous government buildings, museums, palaces and cathedrals. Berlin also has many monuments of recent history dating back to the dark times of National Socialism, the fierce battles for Berlin, and the period of the Cold War.

Berlin is famous for its architecture of various periods. Among the city's most impressive sights are the rebuilt Charlottenburg Palace, the Bundestag with a glass dome and the Brandenburg Gate.

Particular attention should be given to Museum Island. This is the entire island with five world-famous museums, namely the Pergamon Museum, the Bode Museum, the New Museum, the Old National Gallery and the Old Museum. The island was almost destroyed during World War II, but now it has been restored and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The largest and most famous church in Berlin, which is definitely worth a look at, is the Berlin Cathedral. The baroque cathedral was built for 11 years (from 1894 to 1905). The outside decoration of the cathedral includes the sculptures, columns and stucco, while the inside architecture impresses with stained glass windows and paintings on biblical themes. The pulpit, from which the clergy preaches to the parishioners, is decorated with wood carvings. One can find an observation platform on the church's dome, from which the visitors can get a bird's eye view of the Museum Island.

In addition, the Berlin TV Tower is popular among tourists. The locals call it the Eiffel Tower of Berlin. The TV tower has become a modern city symbol and is visible literally from all its areas. The observation deck can be found at the top of the tower, from which one can look at Berlin from the 203-meter height.

The city also has many exciting bars, cafes and gourmet restaurants serving delicious dishes of both national and international cuisine. Berlin offers its guests excellent shopping opportunities. The city offers a real paradise for this – KaDeWe. This is the largest and most famous shopping complex in Europe. They say that its area could occupy nine football fields. Thousands of famous brands are collected here so everyone can find something to their liking.
