Location

Leverkusen is a large industrial city located in North Rhine-Westphalia. The city is famous for one of the oldest, most beautiful and picturesque Japanese Gardens in the world. The garden is especially beautiful in spring, when all the trees and plants are in bloom. Also, the city houses the head office of the famous Bayer Corporation, as well as has its own football club, which is a matter of pride for the locals.

In 2010, a new shopping center and the main City Hall were opened in the center of Leverkusen. When constructing the building, there were used new technologies, so it looks quite impressive. The roof of the City Hall resembles a flying saucer of unrealistic sizes, and at night it glows. The unusual building has a large number of cafes and fashion boutiques where one can spend leisure time.

Many interesting historical sights are concentrated in the Opladen district. The most famous architectural monument of these places is the beautiful Villa Roemer built in the Middle Ages. Leverkusen also offers such amazing monuments as the Baroque Morsbroich Castle, a Water Tower, a Roman Villa, etc.
