Department of General, Abdominal and Thoracic Surgery
The department offers a wide range of surgical services. It specializes in stomach and gastrointestinal tract surgery, surgical treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the pancreas, hernia correction, removal of scars, diagnostic and therapeutic study of the abdominal cavity, removing adhesions in the abdominal cavity after surgery, surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid glands removed benign and malignant tumors of the lung.
Department of Anesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care
The services of the Anaesthesia Department include the use of a range of anaesthetic procedures during surgical operations, postoperative treatment in the recovery room or in the interdisciplinary intensive care ward and emergency medical care for patients in the Aachen area.
Department of Interdisciplinary Early Rehabilitation
The Department for Interdisciplinary Early Rehabilitation at the St. Antonius Hospital allows for an accelerated rehabilitation of patients after surgery or other acute medical treatment in their domestic and/or working conditions. Depending on the respective diseases the therapist teams are individually composed of all specialist groups, in order to meet the needs of different patients.
Department of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Surgery
The Department specializes in all types of vascular surgery: carotid surgery, stent implantation, aortic surgery, peripheral vascular reconstruction, bypass surgery, treatment of varicose veins, the diagnosis and treatment of lymphatic vessels and venous disorders.
Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics
The Department offers a full range of services in the field of gynecology. In accordance with current standards of care it provides treatment of all diseases with benign and malignant tumors. The key activities of the department are treatment of breast cancer, and diagnosis and treatment of all forms of gynecological diseases. An interdisciplinary team of the department also offers family-oriented obstetrics in accordance with all recommendations in this area.
Department of Hematology and Oncology
The Department of Hematology and Oncology offers comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of all haematological and oncological diseases in adults, using telemicroscopy, cell separation, chemotherapeutic treatment, cytological analysis, sonography.
Department of Otolaryngology
Ear, Nose and Throat medicine is conducted within an inpatient department run by St. Antonius Hospital’s own specialists.
Department of Internal Medicine and Internal Intensive Care Medicine
In the Department, patients with acute and chronic diseases are examined and treated using the latest methods in line with current German and international guidelines. The Department specializes in Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Angiology, Nephrology, Intensive Care, and Pulmonology.

Department of Plastic Surgery, Hand and Reconstructive Surgery
The Department specializes in plastic, aesthetic, and breast surgery. It also offers a wide range of modern surgical procedures for treatment of patients with the most diverse diseases and injuries/results of injuries to the hands and upper limbs. These include all hand surgery techniques including endoscopic interventions (keyhole surgery), the whole spectrum of nerve surgery for the limbs and all methods for treating fractures of the hand.
Department of Radiology and Radiotherapy
The St. Antonius Hospital works with the Practice for Radiology, Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine of the RNR (Regional Medical Professional Association), which is located at the hospital. This RNR practice provides inpatients and outpatients with all services in the fields of radiology, radiotherapy and nuclear medicine.
Department of Traumatology and Orthopedic Surgery
The purpose of trauma surgery is the conservative and surgical treatment of occupational and sports and leisure injuries. The Department offers modern osteosynthesis techniques for the entire skeleton.
