The Department of Cardiology and Intensive Care Medicine at the Academic Hospital Bogenhausen offers all modern diagnostic and therapeutic methods for heart and circulatory diseases. The medical emphases are on the non-invasive and invasive diagnosis and treatment of heart disease and cardiac arrhythmias. Cardiac arrhythmias are diagnosed and treated with modern techniques such as electrophysiological examination.

With the exception of lung transplantation, the thoracic surgery department offers the full range of thoracic surgical options from small interventions (taking biopsy samples or installing drains) to large, technically complex tumor removal operations. A separate focus is made on video-assisted thoracoscopy, so that most interventions are performed by this gentle minimally invasive method.
Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, Hand Surgery and Burn Surgery
The department of plastic, reconstructive, hand surgery and burn medicine provides the whole range of plastic surgery. Specialization also includes many surgeries whereby the patient's own tissues are transplanted to restore certain function. For example, such interventions are performed in patients with paralysis of the facial nerve, impaired emptying of the bladder, or with restricted mobility of the hand and foot. Approximately 1,300 patients are treated annually in the in-patient department.

The department of rheumatology, clinical immunology and osteology examines and treats patients with inflammatory rheumatic diseases as well as with non-inflammatory diseases and syndromes(for example, arthrosis or osteoporosis).
