The Marien Hospital Duesseldorf is a modern medical facility in the very center of Duesseldorf and a recognized Research Center. The foundation stone of the hospital was laid back in 1864 with the support of the Catholic Church. The Christian principles of helping and supporting patients have not changed at all over the years, but the level of medical care has become fundamentally different: a small hospital has been transformed into a multidisciplinary medical center with 11 internal departments, institutes and 7 interdisciplinary centers. The medical facility is an academic hospital, so patients have access to innovative achievements in the field of modern medicine and receive the most effective treatment.

The hospital has 437 beds for inpatient treatment. It provides first-class medical services to 63,000 patients every year. Location

Duesseldorf is the capital of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The city is located on the banks of the River Rhine in a place where the river Duessel flows into the Rhine. It is considered one of the largest economic and cultural centers of the country. The almost 900-year-old city offers so much to see – it was not for nothing that it was once called Little Paris, and Goethe praised Duesseldorf in his books.

Undoubtedly, the most interesting place in Duesseldorf is the Old City, located on the right bank of the Rhine. The Old City is called "the longest bar in the world": more than 260 pubs, restaurants, pizzerias, bars, discos, Irish pubs every day hospitably open their doors to both locals and tourists. There is a traditional Market Square and the Gothic City Hall. Near the City Hall, on Burgplatz, one can see two symbols of the city – the Church of St. Lambertus and the Castle Tower, both built in the 13th century. A little to the east is the St. Andrew’s Church. The Hofgarten, adjacent to the Old City, offers beautiful fountains, statues, and green spaces.

To the south of the Old City rises the 234-meter Rheinturm TV tower with a revolving restaurant at a height of 172 m. Not far from the tower is the Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia. This building is considered one of the most modern government institutions in Europe. In addition, Duesseldorf is considered the center of fashion, the focus of which is the Royal Avenue – the most chic street in Europe, completely dotted with shops of the most famous couturiers.
