Hanyang University Medical Center Seoul

Seoul, South Korea

The Hanyang University Medical Center was founded in 1972 and today is one of the largest and most advanced providers of medical services in Korea and around the world. The medical institution runs 9 specialized centers and 26 departments fitted out with state-of-the-art equipment. The most important component of successful treatment results that the hospital continuously demonstrates is the cutting-edge equipment and application of modern unique diagnostic and treatment methods. In addition, the medical facility employs a huge medical team of highly qualified specialists (1,780 employees), which sets a goal to restore patients' health and improve their quality of life. At the same time, at the center of all the efforts of doctors is a patient with their individual needs and experiences.

The hospital offers practically all fields of modern medicine: oncology, cardiology, gastroenterology, surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, radiology, urology and many others.

It should be noted that the medical center is the main base for providing medical care to US armed forces in South Korea, as well as the holder of many national and international quality certificates and awards.

It is noteworthy that the hospital deals not only with clinical practice, but also with educational and research activities, which serves as the basis for the development of many innovative treatment methods.

Location

Seoul is the capital and the largest city of the Republic of Korea, which combines antiquity and modernity. The megapolis impresses with its size, the latest technological advances, quaint architecture and urban landscapes.

The main monuments of architecture in Seoul are the royal palaces. The most important and largest one in Korea is Gyeongbokgung, built in 1394. Its vast territory houses several buildings, throne room, pavilions, the famous gate of the XIV century (Gwanghwamun), the National Palace Museum and the Ethnographic Museum. Another equally significant architectural heritage is Changdeokgung Palace, which is renowned for its picturesque secret garden Huwon – a spacious park with ponds, green groves, pavilions and springs. The monastic residences Changdeokgung and Deoksugung are also popular among tourists.

The modern landmark of Seoul is the Golden Tower of 262 meter in height, erected on the island of Yeouido. This is one of the highest structures in Asia. At the highest point of the tower, there is an observation deck with a view of Seoul and its surroundings and the Yellow Sea. The tower has an aquarium with over 20 thousand marine animals.

An interesting place that attracts thousands of tourists is also the Seoul Land entertainment center. It offers guests the World Plaza with architectural styles of different nations and states, various attractions and an unusual place called Tomorrow Land, where one can get acquainted with the secrets of the Universe and see the houses of the future. In addition, the city has many beautiful parks with excellent conditions for walking and sports.

Seoul offers a lot of interesting opportunities for recreation, amazes with its modern atmosphere, intertwined with the historical heritage, and can not leave indifferent even the most spoiled tourist.
