The Department of Thoracic Surgery offers the full range of surgical treatment of diseases of the thoracic organs. Particular attention is paid to the treatment of tumors of the chest cavity. The department also offers all surgical interventions in the field of reconstructive thoracic surgery, including correction of keeled-shape chest and funnel chest. The Department is the Lung Transplant Expert Center (Munich Lung Transplant Group MLTG).
Department of Hand Surgery, Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery
The Department of Hand Surgery, Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery at the University Hospital of Munich covers the entire spectrum of plastic and hand surgery. In close cooperation with the experts specializing in neurology, neuropediatrics, neurosurgery and pediatric intensive care medicine, the department provides children and adolescents with differential diagnostics to classify epileptic attacks, as well as with presurgical epilepsy diagnostics.
Being a part of the Comprehensive Cancer Center CCC München, the Breast Center offers all components of modern breast cancer treatment. Its primary focus is on diagnosis and treatment of all benign and malignant diseases of breast in women and men. With the range of services offered, the center ranks among the most advanced breast centers in Germany according to the current FOCUS-list and the head of the center, Prof. Dr. med.
