Patients rooms

The patients of the University Hospital Halle (Saale) live in comfortable single, double and triple patient rooms made in a modern design. All patient rooms are equipped with an ensuite bath with toilet and shower. The standard room includes a comfortable, automatically adjustable bed, a bedside table, a wardrobe, a table and chairs for receiving visitors and a TV. There is access to Wi-Fi. For security reasons, in some places, including in Intensive Care Units, it is forbidden to use laptops and mobile phones. In addition, the hospital offers enhanced-comfort patient rooms.

Location

Halle (Saale) is a major German city located on the Saale River. Halle is a transport hub, a river port, a center of the chemical industry, which develops local sources of potassium and brown coal salts, rock salt, copper ore. The city also has developed engineering, including railway coach manufacturing and machine-tool industry, food, chemical and pharmaceutical, woodworking, cement, metallurgical industry, the production of construction materials, agriculture and crop science.

The city is proud of its Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, which was founded in 1502. One can get an education on almost one hundred specialties at the university. The whole life of the city is interwoven with the life of the university.

The city was not damaged during the World War II, therefore it offers tourists a lot of attractions, beautiful buildings and temples, monuments and parks. The main attractions of Halle are concentrated in the downtown. It draws attention with its medieval, crooked streets, whereas its main heritage is Marktplatz Square. The Red Tower is located right on this square. It was built between 1418 and 1506 and designed in the Baroque style. This square has several monuments, one of which is a monument to the famous native of the city – composer Georg Friedrich Händel. Also, the square has a beautiful Church of the Virgin Mary.

The favorite walking place for many tourists is the Market Square. It is located on the very place where a large trade route passed in the Middle Ages. Around the square, one can see many beautiful historic buildings, which today house popular restaurants and cultural institutions. The Market Square houses the magnificent Marktschloss Palace with the the interesting museum. The main exhibits of this museum are ancient musical instruments. In addition, one can find a gallery in the palace, as well as a shop with rare old books.
