The University Hospital Giessen and Marburg has at its disposal one- and two-bedded rooms with its own bathroom. The patient room units comprise sanitary areas (including shower, wash basin and WC) which are handicapped accessible.
There are also mother-child-rooms at the Department of Pediatrics and other specialties, which are available upon request.
Patient rooms mostly have a balcony or terrace.
In the Departments of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Neurology as well as in the Pediatric Clinic, the patient rooms are equipped with electrically adjustable beds.
Meals and Menus
The supply of food and drinks for patients is made by the own kitchen (which is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2000). The University Hospital Giessen and Marburg provides patients of all Departments with a large offer in both whole food and diet. All meals are prepared from fresh ingredients in compliance with nutritional and physiological guidelines of recognized professional associations. The clinic offers an outstanding selection of meals, including a component selection for the breakfast, several sets of standardized meals for lunch and dinner, the components for which can be chosen separately.
Stationary patients are offered on request mineral water, diverse teas and in some Departments juices. In some Departments, these services are also offered to the ambulatory patients.

Almost all patient rooms are equipped with TV sets. Please ask the nursing staff for all information regarding its usage.
The University Hospital Giessen and Marburg offers its patients the possibility to attend both protestant and catholic services.
The Department of Children’s and Youth Medicine has at its disposal apartments for parents, which are available for parents of children treated on an inpatient basis. In several specialties there is, if requested, also a possibility to accommodate accompanying persons.
